I love the Hamptons - Amangansett has got to be my favorite of all of them and your choice of the Ocean Dunes is right on the money! The Inn at Quogue is also a wonderful place and the restaurant as you said is a great choice! As for Gurneys that one I save for the fall :) Great Hub!

Many years back I had to travel in that area frequently on business. I stayed several times at a place called O'Briens (I think?). Very nice, I especially remember very tasty biscuits with dinner :-)

Hi

I am trying to figure out if Bowens Cottages are the same cottages I stayed in 9 years ago?

There were quite a few cottages on the property

One, two bedrooms and studios with a main house at the entrance

I remember it was off of the main road a Hirt ride to the beach and roughly

20-30 mins from the Shinnecock Reservation.

Can you please tell me thename of those cottages?

I remember that the owner at the time was ill.

Hi Monet

Bowens Cottages are now owned by Eileen and Jeff Bowen. It is a family owned business, so it is possible the son has taken over the resort.

Bowens is about 20 minutes from the Shinnecock Reservation.

I am not sure of the name of the cottages, they are called the guest houses.

Here is the website for Bowens, http://www.bowensbythebays.com/index.html

I hope this helps answer your questions.

Sounds to me this might have been the place you visited 9 years ago.

Let me know if I helped you at all.

Hi Joanie

Thank you soo much!!!

I am going to phone Bowens shortly.

Right now I am considering Bowens cottages or

Hither Hills Cottages. Any comments??

If Bowens is the same place, I enjoyed my stay

Hi Monet,

I am glad I could help you.

Not sure about Hither Hills cottages, Hither Hills Park for camping is a wonderful place. If i am thinking correct Hither Hills cottages would be located in Montauk.

Well again I am glad I could help you. Enjoy your vacation.
