Beaches one main attraction of the Hamptons
One of the main attractions in the Hampton's, NY is the beautiful beaches. A great place to sit back relax and soak in the sun.
The Hampton's is surrounded by water. If you like to sit on the beach, boat, water ski, jet ski, or even fish this is the place to come. These activities are done on a daily basis. You can rent a jet ski, go on a boat ride, even go on a charter boat for a day of fishing. Who knows maybe you will catch the biggest fish of the day.
Bring your surf board. If the surf is up you will have a blast surfing in the Atlantic Ocean.
If you are a couple on vacation or a family the beach has something for everyone.

What a great day you will have at this water park. Beat the heat of the summer and have fun on the rides at the same time visit Splish Slash of Long Island located in Riverhead, NY.
The park opens it gates for the season on May 29th, they are opened on the weekends from 10 AM till 5 PM. Starting June 19th they will be opened 7 days a week.
The park has a total of 21 rides and slides. Sixteen of the rides have a height restriction of 48". The park plans to open the NEW TUNNEL OF TERROR, hope you are not scared of the dark!!!!!
Splish Splash offers five rides for children under 48" in height.

If you are planning your vacation in the Hamptons there are many places to stay.
Riverhead has many hotels to choose from just to name a few Holiday Inn Express, Quality Inn. If you are staying in Riverhead you will be in the heart of many things to do. Close to these hotels you can find Tanger Mall. A major shopping mall with all the outlets you could dream of. If you are a shopper you will love this place.
There are many well know restaurants in Riverhead. Friendly's, Pizza Hut, TGIFridays, Blouder Creek, Mc Donalds, Wendy's, Burger King, Apple Bees. You sure will have many to choose from.
This is great if you are on a family vacation. Affordable and fits your budget.
Lodging and Eating
If you are a couple on vacation and are staying in the Hamptons you have many places to stay. If you search the internet you might find something that fits your style.
The Hamptons has state of the art restaurants. One to name would be Oaklands located in Hampton Bays on Dune Road right on the water. The menu consists of many choices of seafood cooked to perfection.
Another would be the Riptide this is located in Hampton Bays right on the Shinecock Canal. They offer live music and also serve wonderfully prepared seafood. While you eat you will watch the boats and yachts going through the canal. It is a phenomonal site to see.
There are many places to choose from all with wonderful food.
There is also many night clubs to choose from. The Hampton's never sleeps in the summer it is a great place to visit.

Hi Joaniemb- The Hamptons sound like a wonderful place to visit. It seems to have elegance, and I was wondering how affordable it might be. I used to live in Buffalo, and as far as I got was NYC. You describe the area very well. I see that we are newbies.
I lived in NY for years and never went to the Hampton's. I guess because I thought it was for the rich folks. I have heard it is beautiful!
